March 2013 Rockport, Texas

March has been full of great times with friends and family. Lorilee  and Paige met us half way to drop off our granddaughter, Grace. It was nice visiting them for an hour in Comfort, TX. Gracie came and visited us for Spring break. She had never caught her own fish but she did here on the coast and John filet them and she ate them all up. I ventured with her to the Hurricane water park and went down the slides. (still not old enough to quit). We went swimming in the cold water but we got used to it after awhile. She  got to sit around with a lot of old folks at an Oyster get together.  We did some sightseeing in San Antonio then Gracie had to go back home so Lo met us and we had lunch in San Antonio. It was time well cherished.

 

Lots of our friends are heading back  home so we had a happy hour at our place before they left. It was great and lots came with food, snacks and drinks. Had to take a picture of our exercise group.  We met Monday thru Friday at 8 am.  Gonna miss them all.

We have a couple of friends that inspired us into this life of RV'ing originally from Colorado Springs.  Jim and Ellie Meacham came to Drifters RV park for a couple of weeks. We had time to go to Red Fish Willies and enjoy lunch and a couple of happy hours.
All in all our time at Rockport was wonderful and we look forward to meeting all of our friends again throughout our travels.
We left Drifters April 1, 2013 to stay in Aransas Pass for a month.
Did lots of fishing and the Sand Festival before heading east.

Colorado Friends February 2013

2/11/2013 - Here in Rockport we have found out we have more Colorado friends in the area.  We have made a date and had breakfast with the Bowers (Bobby & Sami) whom are now RV'ers fulltime.  They have been RV'ing for a few years and are staying in Fulton, Tx.  Bobby and I worked together at Utilities and he worked in the IT department. 
Kathy and John Borja ran into Bobby & Sami at lunch last week so now we have all reconnected.
The life of RV'ing is wonderful and full of surprises. We are so happy to reconnect and hope to stay in touch throughout our journey (s). 

January and February - 2013

Our New Year started out great celebrating the New Year with friends.  We enjoyed bringing in the NEW year at Drifters RV Resort annual Party.  Fun Fun!!

Then we took off to Cancun for a week on January the 12th.  Loved Cancun and Isla Mujeres.
We just relaxed relaxed relaxed oh and some siteseeing.  We have seen  most in past trips.

Every Month our neighbors have an Oysterfest and all of the rest of us neighbors get together and have potluck and drinks.  Gretchen and Greg are from Minnesota and love having this at their rig. John will not try the raw oysters, but I have with a spicy red sauce and they are not so bad.

Our friends from Colorado arrived, John and Kathy Borja February 1st.  They are staying in Aransas Pass but only a few miles from us.  Love these two and are enjoying our time with them fishing and partying.

LaMardi Gras in Lamar Texas was fun and we ran into Gayle and Mike and other neighbors February 10th.  The parade was awesome and the music, company and food just as well.  Of course, the "Johns" loved the Ladies in Blue giving kisses (literally).  So much fun will attend again.

2012 an Eventful Year

What a fantastic memorable 2012 of traveling, visiting family and meeting new friends.  We traveled over 7000 miles in 2012 and enjoyed every minute of it.

October thru December - Rockport; El Paso; Colorado; Abilene.
The year was very eventful and we are so blessed to be able to travel, meet up with family and meet so many new people that will last a lifetime.
What an amazing life and Thank you Jesus.

December 2012

Very Eventful Month - surprised family and went to El Paso, Colorado, and Abilene for an early Christmas Surprise.  We were missing the family so we went and bought a new car and decided to take a road trip.  It was amazing and so great to see all the family.  We are blessed to have seen them all but Colorado was so cold....-3 degrees.  We were quickly reminded why we started RV'ing towards the Gulf in the winter.  All went well and we were gone for 2 weeks but are so happy to be in the warmer climate.  Love the Gulf.

November 2012 - Hobo Party

Drifters RV Resort had a Hobo Night and guess who won the best costume contest.    Muaaaaa.........
Thought I would share some pictures.  This was our 1st party here at Drifters and folks thought they had hired me to be the entertainment.  I was just playing the part.  Had fun.  John did not want to dress up but laughed all night. Great Night and met lots of new people.

 

We were invited to play Texas Holdum and guess who won.  JOHN.  Yeah it was fun!! I will make sure and take care of his winnings.  Have a great Thanksgiving to all of you out there.

Rockport, Texas - October 2012

We arrived in Rockport Texas on October 1st and will be staying at Drifters RV Resort for the winter. The park is very nice and we love the exercise room, biking area, swimming pool and they plan on many activities beginning in November.  The weather is great, hot humid but not cold!!
We love this area because of the Ocean, the fishing, but most of all the beautiful scenery around us.
We look forward to spending time here this winter and will have a better feel of everything after a few months.
John and I have scheduled all of our Annual Dr. appointments for our Wellness checkups so we will feel good after all of this is done.  Shots,,,shots,,,,bloodwork....and more.  Love It Now Though!!

10/14/2012-We are meeting new people which we love.  Met some folks from Canyon City, Colorado in El Paso in September and found out they also are staying here in Aransas Pass, for the winter.  Jerry and Anita at their RV in Ranson Rd RV Park. 

Then when we were in San Marcos we met some folks that stayed at the same place last month and they are now here in the same park with us.  Went to Goliad to Market Days with Steve and Vickie.  Also went swimming with Steve and Vicki, our neighbors.   It has been a pleasure meeting new folks.
