Colorado 2015 - April thru June

Arrived in Falcon, Colorado and decided that we would try work camping in Canon City.  The area is beautiful and we worked a month in May.  It was still to early to come to Colorado and we experience snow, hail and lot of rain. The birds were beautiful and mountains un-describable  This work camping was not meant for us so we decided to leave.  The area was beautiful.

May and June we spent time with the family and visiting areas of Colorado Springs. Enjoyed Tristan's graduation from kindergarten in May.

We had a baby shower for Paige and Ivan on June 14, 2015.  Great turnout and so much fun being with family and friends.

We then toured the area as John had never been to Pikes Peak in June.

We enjoyed time with the Pino family and loved taking pictures in Colorful Colorado.

So saddened we were not able to connect with Candace and Alexia.  Made several attempts to get together but with Candace busy schedule they were not able to make our gatherings and family get togethers.  Maybe next time they will find the time to come and see us.  Missed them. 

March 2015 - Okaloosa Island, Florida - Spring is in the air.

March has been a very relaxing month here on the island. We spent much of our time walking the beach, collecting shells, collecting sand dollars and spending time with friends.  We participated in the bonfires that they have on Tuesdays and Thursdays for all of their guests.

Along with Spring, brings out all the Spring Breakers, as well. 

Fishing has not been so great, but we tried and went fishing with our young friends, Seth and Vanessa. We enjoyed each others company, although we can't say too much about the fishing.

As well, we met Colleen and Mike and enjoyed sitting around the campfire exchanging stories and travel tips.  More friends to look forward to meeting again on the road some day.

Right next to the Destin West RV Park where we are staying is a Nature Center/Birding Sanctuary. We enjoy walking in the park and checking out all of the nests being built by the Blue Heron and the Horned Owls. We enjoyed the Osprey flying and the nests. So, we have enjoyed nature at its best and the beautiful weather.  It has been a beautiful start to Spring.

2015 - January & February

January - Spent the New Years in Destin, Florida at the Harbor Walk with friends/cousins Kathy and John Borja. We always enjoy our time with these two.

We also went on our 1st segway ride in (Emerald Coast Tours) Pensacola, Florida and we had a blast.  This is something we will definitely do again. Monica (daughter of Borjas) came for a visit from Colorado.

We helped care for cousin Vida, when we were needed.  It has been sad seeing this beautiful woman decline from cancer.  She has such a fighting attitude. We are just blessed we have been able to spend time with her and the family.

Sadly, the Borjas decided to leave at the end of January onto their next adventure. We will miss them dearly until we meet up again.


February - Our Anniversary month. 24 years and we are looking forward to many more. This was a cold month and we stayed inside and watched a lot of movies.  Helped out with Vida whenever they called.
When we did get out we did some more site-seeing.  Went south down the coast and found another few lighthouse.  Cape St George Light on St. George Island, Fl. was beautiful.  The beaches are not as we thought they would be so we definitely like the white sugar beaches up in the Fort Walton/Destin area.

Also in February, we lost a beautiful cousin on February 19th. She welcomed us with open arms when we arrived in the Destin area. We loved being with her, however shortly after we were here, in December cancer struck Vida James.  It was such an aggressive cancer and took her very fast.  We will miss our sweet and loving cousin, and will keep her in our hearts forever.
