April 2012-Triathlon and Vacation with Kids - Galveston

The kids came to Galveston, Texas to run in a Triathon. We had such a wonderful time with Kallie, Jason and Tristan in Galveston at the end of March.
Jason did awesome in his age group and placed really great in his age category. It was great seeing him and his friends participate in this race.  Over 2000 participants.

We got to have sleep-overs with Tristan.  He loves his Nan and Poppy.  Kallie and Tristan were entertained at beach and swimming pool. Pool more than beach as a lot of debris had come into the beach area. We took them on the Ferry and Tristan was scared of the water, but he survived.  Loved being with the kids.

Spring Break March 12 - 17 2012 with Lo and Grace

John and I were surprised to have family visit us for Spring Break.  Lorilee and Gracie traveled from El Paso to Galveston Island to spend 5 days with us.  It was great and we kept the girls busy walking and swimming on the Beach.

We were able to go down by the Sea Wall, amongst hundreds of Spring Breakers and enjoy the beach and eat at "The Spot".  The food was great and the weather was outstanding.  We took the girls on the Ferry across the Bay to Bolivar Peninsula.  Gracie wanted to hunt for large sea shells, so we did that and were successful and found a few big shells. We also hung out at Jamaica Beach and the girls swam and flew kites.
We for sure wanted them to see Kemah Boardwalk, so we planned a whole day to spend there. We enjoyed lunch at "The Cadillac" and I sure enjoyed my Coronaita.  No one rode but Grace and I, and of course I could not let her go alone.......so we both got our wrist bands for all the rides.  Fun!!
It was fun and the girls loved the atmosphere and of course Gracie loved the rides (me too!!).

We also went to see the Aquarium with the large StingRays and we were able to feed them and touch them.  It was very nice and many other fish to enjoy and see, as well.
We decided we wanted to go Putt Putt golfing at the last evening so at the RV Resort we went to the Pirates Treasure Adventure Golf. Of course it was so funny and we almost peeeeed our pants laughing so much.  So of course, I took more pictures. We had a wonderful time with the girls and hated to see them leave and look forward to seeing them soon.

February 23 - 24, 2012 - Visit with Colorado Friends - The Weikels

We received an email from our neighbors in Colorado stating they were on their way to Texas from Florida.  There was no way we were not going to work it out to meet up with them. The Weikels (Dave and Beth) lived right next door to us and are doing a lot of traveling in their RV to teach classes on, dealing with the loss of loved ones.  So we arranged to meet and we drove down to Conroe, TX and they surprised us by arriving last night here. We are staying here a week.  What an awesome reunion this was.  We stayed up late, talked and drank some wine.
Today, February 24, 2012 - Most Important note of day - had to call son and tell him "Happy Birthday", of course.
To continue, the Weikel's took us to breakfast at a quaint diner, which was very good and reasonably priced.  We enjoyed our short time with them as they have other obligations and teachings in Temple TX.  We were so very happy that we were able to meet up with them and look forward to our next visit. They are now on their way to College Station, TX to visit more friends and then to Temple, TX for a class.

February 2012 - Our Trip to Gainesville, Texas - Uncle Preacher & Family

John and I arrived in Gainesville Texas on Tuesday, February 22, 2012.  We stayed at an Outlet Mall RV site, which was very close to the Oklahoma border and near Uncle Preacher.
It had been 21 years since we seen the family and it was a great visit.  Everyone thinks John looks just like his Dad, which he does.  Uncle Preacher came over the 1st evening and spent a few hours with us.  John was ecstatic. Then Cousin Dave Morgan and Uncle Preacher came over the next day during lunch.
Uncle Preacher told us about a casino that gave Seniors free breakfast, so we went the next day.  It was fun and we got our breakfast free. We were also able to gamble and earn credits, then they gave us $25 credits to play with.  It was fun and we played on their money.
Later  that same day we went to Uncle Preachers house and visited with Aunt Anita and him.  Aunt Anita is having to go through so much dialysis and we were so glad she could accompany us during our visit. Many memories and pictures were shared.  Uncle Preacher has so much history stored in his head, also has written books of the Morgan history.  It was such an awesome visit and I am so glad we went. Have to post a picture of The "Morgan Family" early years. John was so young and looks like Jeremy and Ryan to me.  How cool is this picture to share and bring back memories.

Killeen Texas Visit

February 17 thru February 20, 2012
John and I left Canyon Lake, Texas and traveled to Killeen Texas to visit our Smithey family.
This was such an enjoyable trip being around family.  We enjoyed going to church, bowling, dinner,
movies, touring Ft. Hood and most of all just spending time with the kids.
The kids, Toby and Riley are really good kids and I love there energy.  Their "Tebow poise" was awesome.  They have had practice.

Anitra and Cheyenne have a beautiful home.  Ft. Hood is such a great place to visit and we felt serile seeing all the memorialization for those that have lost their lives.  We love family and enjoyed our trip.

We also visited with friends, the Brook's Family whom are also stationed in Killeen.  What a great visit after 4 years or so.  Went to lunch at Cracker Barrell and sure enjoyed the company.
Overall our visit in Killeen, was awesome and we are both happy we were able to spend quality time with family and friends.

Canyon Lake - Near New Braunfels and San Antonio

John and I have been here a week and we enjoy this area. Lake Point RV Resort, Canyon Lake, TX.  It is a distance from San Antonio, but we decided to stay another week here.  We have been siteseeing in this area and have discovered some more beautiful landscaping and sites in TEXAS.  We have met quite a few people here and most of them are members of Coast to Coast.  We like the place but not ready to commit buying in on a membership.  The cost for staying here is only $12.00 a night and .10 for electric. Everyone is so nice and we have joined in on their BBQ's, Fish Fry, Stuffed Potatoes, Bible Study, Church and Happy Hours.  It is a great social group and so friendly.
The Lake is in our Front yard just a few feet away.  Tons of Deer are in the area and John and I bought some Deer Corn so now we can feed them.

We have ventured out to Gruen(small German town) and San Antonio and enjoyed our times there.  Spent money buying shirts, purse and hats.  It was fun and we loved the Cabbage looking plants in Gruen.  The Hall was also very interesting.

We got the opportunity to meet with our cousin, Debbie Molina, who lives in San Antonio until the end of the month.  She got a promotion and is going back to Las Vegas.  We had lunch and it was great seeing her.  She reminds me so much of her mom, Dee. She is driven and will surely succeed at her new job.  Thanks for lunch Debbie.

This coming Saturday (February 11) we will meet up with our Colorado Springs colleagues and friends in San Antonio.  Can hardly wait to see Jim and Ellie Meachan again.  We plan to go to RiverWalk and the Alamo.
Sunday we hope to go to Sea World, but iffeee.....weather permitting.  Then go see more family in San Antonio.
Hope you enjoy the pictures and more to come.

Gulf of Mexico - Aransas Pass - Port Aransas - Rockport Texas area

Our trip to the Gulf of Mexico has been so relaxing and the weather has been awesome.  Again, we stayed in a very nice park, Aransas Bay RV Resort.  We met lot of people and lots of Happy Hours here. The weather has been fantastic. We have had to wear jackets, very little.  Flip flops quite frequently and going to the beach to enjoy the Gulf of Mexico.

We were able to meet up with our friends Judi and David Kruse again (and Callie there new rescued dog). We went to eat at an All You Can Eat and our bill was 10.83.  The Big Fisherman was well worth it so go eat there if you are in the area. We were able to enjoy much of the area siteseeing, oh and we did get some fishing in. This part of Texas is truly beautiful as most of what we have seen so far.  Love it All!!

John and I are now getting ready to leave to the San Antonio area and will be staying in Canyon Lake, Texas and look forward to the new discoveries in that area.   We will miss our friends, but hope to meet up with them soon.  Hope you enjoy the pictures and we will continue to share our travels with you as we can.
